Caterpillar’s eye view

unusual POV

While mowing the lawn this afternoon, I noticed the ornamental grass in our front yard was sprouting … something, making it look sort of ethereal.

Since ethereal is in short supply while one is mowing one’s lawn, I took a picture, nabbing this opportunity to show an unusual point of view, per the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge. This perspective was taken from the ground (yes, I was laying on the mulch). It only appears to be black and white, thanks to the overcast-but-still-bright sky — it’s actually in color.

Here’s how my grasses look from a more traditional point of view:

You can see the wheaty “sprouts,” especially when compared to the second photo in this post from two summers ago about all the ornamental grasses in my yard.

Here’s to caterpillars. And unusual points of view.
