Rainbows only happen when it’s raining


This was the scene in the wake of a rainstorm that blew through northern Illinois this afternoon.

Beats the scene of a flattened school.

Rainbows are tough to pin down (which is why that pot of gold at the end is so hard to find). This rainbow appeared, disappeared and reappeared a half dozen times as we drove down the interstate. I was lucky to get this shot on camera.
