There’s no accounting for taste (in C-level executives)

There’s no business like show business, but there are several businesses like accounting.

~ David Letterman

Guess what I learned today. QuickBooks software!

I know! What could be more thrilling than accounting?

Um, just about anything?

I have been appointed CFO of my husband’s business. The title is impressive, but the work requires detailed tracking of all his Amazon purchases, among other menial tasks like filing, so it’s not as glamorous as it sounds.

Still, I’m thinking about getting business cards made with my new title.

Business expense, right?

  1. I’m not sure if I should say, “I’m sorry … ” or “Congratulations!” ha!

  2. Hey, I am getting ready to launch into Quickbooks and Quickbooks POS for our business. Revamping all our accounting for 2013. Make my husband the CFO. :):). You will do GREAT!

  3. Ooh! I’m taking an accounting course right now.. It’s all very interesting 😀

One thing I did during my short stint as an Etsy Shop owner was to label receipts in gmail so that I could pull them all up at a moments notice. If I purchased something irl, I either photographed or photocopied the receipt and e-mailed it to my gmail so that it would also be in the receipts folder.

    Hope that helps!
